Painter : Goodness Mpinga

Goodness Mpinga was born on the 27th November, 1976, at Bergville, in Natal. Goodness did her education at Sizathina High School, where she got her Standard 8. Goodness is single, and has two children.  She is very pretty and petite.

Goodness Mpinga started at Ardmore Studio in 1992.  She used to visit Bonnie Ntshalintshali and Fee Halsted-Berning offered her a chance as a painter.  Goodness is the only artist in her family.  Goodness lived in the neighbourhood of Phumele Nene who was a great painter at Ardmore and encouraged her to paint.

Goodness’s favourite animals for painting are Guinea Fowls, and birds combined with  sprays of small flowers, and leaves.  She often does studies of Turtles, crocodiles, birds, elephants and goats.  She likes to use pinks and greens.  One can recognize her style by her naïve querky birds and animals and a design that encorporates a lot of linear brush marks.
