Mirriam Ngubeni was born in 1972, in Durban.She joined Fèe Halsted-Berning in the Champagne Valley, of the Central Drakensberg, in 1990.
Mirriam worked alongside Mavis and Punch Shabalala, and her work took on a similar style to Punch.Slowly Mirriam evolved her painting to bear her own recognizable stamp, her bold floral and leaf designs had a very fine definite line.Her preference was Pastel colouring, rather than primary colours.She became known for her extensensive use of a Passion Flower design.
In 1991 Mirriam worked at Caversham Mill Press, and created a wonderful Adam and Eve silk screen under the the guidance of Malcolm Christian.
When Fèe moved to Springvale, Rosetta, Mirriam followed her, and worked alongside fellow artists Nelly Ntshalintshali, Phineus Mweli, and Petros Gumbi whose work was shown at the Bronx Community College, New York.
Mirriam died in 2000.
