Zinhle is an attractive, modern, very together, young woman. She followed her talented older sister, Jabu Nene, to Ardmore and, since then, has developed into a brilliant painter but her ambition does not end there. In 2005 she completed two years of study at business school in Newcastle, during which time she worked weekends to keep up her output of ceramics. Her next step is to get her driving licence.
Zinhle is truly amazing, combining the job of being a mother, improving her already beautiful painting talent, and studying to improve herself. She is by any standards one of the new generation of super-women coming out of Africa. Zinhle has the potential to become a senior manager in Ardmore's business and, because she loves her work, in all likelihood she will continue to paint her exquisite pieces to which she gives great care and intelligence.
Unusually Zinhle does not often include florals with her animal designs. Her detail is awesome - stippling, sponging, scaling and feathering with huge patience. As a result, her work sells so fast that there is seldom any on display.
Zinhle has one son whom she supports and she plans to continue her own education with the help of the Ardmore Excellence fund. |
