Aids Awareness

The AIDS pandemic creates a constant strain on Ardmore’s artistic talent. Each time the disease claims a life at Ardmore, the community not only mourns the passing of a loved friend and colleague, but also the loss of artistic talent.

In reaction to this devastating disease, Ardmore’s Excellence Fund has taken a tri-fold approach: financial coverage of doctors’ fees, medication, and nutrition programming for its community, investment in AIDS education internally, and commitment to AIDS education through special AIDS awareness pieces and exhibitions. Below, we share some of the most powerful works in our AIDS collection, featuring powerful painting and prose by one of Ardmore’s most collectable artists, Wonderboy “Thokozolo” Nxumalo.
