Artists lead Oprah Winfrey School Art Workshop

Four of our top Ardmore Artists, Christopher Ntshalinsthali, Nomandla Nodola, Sabelo Khoza and Petros Gumbi were recently invited by Oprah Winfrey to partake in a ten day Art Workshop held at the Oprah Winfrey School just outside of Johannesburg. Over ten days they taught nine groups consisting of 25 girls each the processes of clay building large vases onto which they placed sculpted figurines each student made.

The artists met Oprah and returned with many exciting stories of what a wonderful and inspiring woman she is. The final evening and gala dinner where the nine beautifully created vases were exhibited, was the highlight of their workshop, as Oprah presented the most special awards to the artists along with a heartfelt speech about their dedication and excellence in teaching others.

Ardmore’s four leaders returned to Ardmore eager to share their teachings and stories with all the artists. What a great example they have set for others to follow.
