Ardmore Excellence Fund building its community.

Over a year of research, enquiry, and six months of negotiation, the Ardmore Excellence Fund has concluded and signed up 58 of its self employed artists, onto a life cover plan underwritten by a leading life insurance company in South Africa .

The entry criterion for the self employed artists to join the scheme has been two fold. It is an annual earning of a minimum of R10, 000.00 per year and secondly, a review of their commitment, responsibility and dedication to furthering their own artistic skills.

The scheme has life and disability cover with savings, investment opportunities and funeral cover.

Here is how it works!

  • If the artist dies from and accident before the investment benefit date, not able to work or looses the total use of one/both hands or one foot/both feet; a permanent disability, the artist is eligible to receive an amount of R75, 000.00 per artist. A one payment to pre-determined beneficiaries.
  • If the artist dies from an illness or natural causes within a 2 year period of signing up onto the programme, a pro rata payment of benefits from six months to the two years will be covered. If death takes place after the two year period the full benefit of R75, 000.00 will be paid to the beneficiaries of the artist.
  • In the event of longevity, based on artist's age to retirement at 65 years, there will be a payment of benefit and in certain cases a "top up" advantage where, because of the age and their commitment to the studio, extra financial recognition will be given.
  • Funeral cover for artist, current spouse and up to five children will be catered for.
  • There are added value opportunities built into the programme for the artists to enjoy in their mature years.

A truly wonderful opportunity that does not cost the artist anything! No monthly deductions from the artists' income.

For those artists that have not achieved the criteria, they are being encouraged to be more creative, so that they can join the programme.

Through contributions and donations to the Ardmore Excellence Fund these realities are happening. The Fund thanks all Ardmore collectors, corporate businesses and fund raisers, nationally and internationally that are making this possible. A very big "thank you" to Ardmore Ceramic Art who has continued its financial commitment of percentage nett monthly profit to this project.
