We have had an extremely busy week, firing last minute kilns and packing the shipment for the Endangered Species show at Patrick Mavros in London. I know a few strays will find their way over in my suitcase! Sabelo, Zinhle, Siya and Betty spent the week as guests with Ted Adllard and family in the Limpopo, on their first Big 5 safari. Thank you so much Ted for the generosity and kindness.

Mother’s Day is around the corner (on Sunday 13 May) and an Ardmore artwork makes a treasured gift for anyone special, so for anyone reading this blog who responds or brings it with them to the Gallery we are offering a free gift and a discount in honour of mothers. Riders For Rhinos

I was outstanded at the fantastic turn out and support for our Riders for rhinos auction at Plumbago Dbn. We sold all the riders and raised about R15.000.00 for the poaching campaign. The riders series have become highly collectable and we are delighted by their appeal.

The 15th SOFA (Sculpture, Objects & Functional Art) event opened in New York on the weekend. We are very proud to have our Monkey Vase and Flycatcher there on the Amaridian Gallery stand (winner of the “best booth” award), and are delighted that the Monkey Vase sold on the opening night!

On Thursday 26 April, Plumbago in Durban’s Florida Road will host the”Ardmore Riders for Rhino’s” fundraising event for the World Wildlife Fund. I will be a guest speaker along with Dr Jacques Flamand, Head of WWF’s Black Rhino Range Expansion Project.

We were proud to be part of the Plumbago stand at Decorex in Durban last weekend. Julie and Debbie, the “Plumbago girls”, worked hard to get everything looking perfect, with stunning pieces including our magnificent chandelier…Conde Nast’s Décor Editor Dean Van Aswegen flew down from JHB to view the stand on behalf of the magazine and was amazed!
